Summary:Title screen
The article presents the results of experimental studies of the process of a water droplet spreading on rough surfaces. The effect of roughness on the characteristics and conditions of spreading is analyzed. For the first time, it was found that, depending on the generalized grinding parameter (Z), the surface can acquire both hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties. It is shown that at Z = 10, the surface becomes hydrophobic. Increasing or decreasing this parameter leads to the surface acquiring hydrophilic properties. A polynomial approximation is carried out, based on the results of which mathematical expressions linking the droplet spreading characteristics and the generalized roughness parameter are formulated. Moreover, the phase state of a water droplet spreading on a rough surface is established by the results of the experiments
