This contribution reports a new route to silver(I) based coordination polymers (CPs) with dicarboxylate linkers and pyridines (py-R) as auxiliary ligands. First of all, silver(I) terephthalate ([Ag2{C6H4(COO)2}]n, 1), silver(I) maleate ([Ag2{C2H2(COO)2}]n, 2) and silver(I) malate ([Ag2{C2H3(OH)(COO)2}]n, 3) were prepared. Next, they were dissolved in neat pyridine or picoline. Colorless crystals of CPs formulated as [Ag2(4-Me-py)3{C6H4(COO)2}]n (4), [Ag2(2-Me-py)4{C6H4(COO)2}]n (5) and molecular complex [Ag4(2-Me-py)6{C2H2(COO)2}2] (6) were isolated from the solutions. Addition of 4,4’-bipyridine (bpy) into the solution of silver(I) malate in pyridine produced crystals of a two-dimensional coordination polymer formulated as [Ag2(bpy)2{C2H3(OH)(COO)2}]n·2nH2O (7). Both 4 and [Ag2(2-Me-py)4{C6H4(COO)2}]n (5) are luminescent with a blue-green emission
