Summary:Title screen
We present experimental results on the spectral characteristics of coherent Cherenkov radiation generated by two subsequent electron bunches at the AREAL accelerator. A cylindrical Teflon radiator was used as the radiation target. The dependence of the coherent radiation yield on the inter-bunch delay, varied from 4 to 24 ps, was investigated. Two narrowband Schottky barrier diode detectors equipped with waveguide coupled pyramidal horn antennas, covering the frequency ranges of 33–50 GHz and 90–140 GHz, were used to acquire radiation. A measurement scheme based on a Martin–Puplett interferometer was employed to analyse the spectral characteristics of the detected radiation. The experimental results are in agreement with theoretical predictions
