Nowadays, Smith–Purcell radiation is used for bunch length diagnostics. This paper presents experimental results of investigating radiation from a specific tilted grating. We propose using a grating consisting of adaptive strips, allowing to change a grating profile. Such a grating offers additional advantages compared to the traditional Smith–Purcell radiation geometry and radiation from a tilted grating. The results of measurements on the electron bunch train show that this advantage consists in the ability to increase the radiation intensity for a given tilt angle of the grating.
