The low-grade fossil fuels and herbal oils attract more and more attention last years due to the low price and high availability of the first together with fast reproducibility of the last. Thermochemical conversion of the quasi-renewable fuel compositions of peat and herbal oil under the high-power heating was experimentally investigated in this paper. Such fuels have a quite low calorific value at self-sustaining combustion and, thus, just the allothermal approaches are mostly appropriate for their conversion. The component ratio allowing the maximal usage of the fuel oxidation heat as well as highest production of the combustible gases was determined (2:1 in favour of oil). The emission of the hazardous gases is 2–3 times lower for such composition in comparison with pure peat conversion. The light flux with intensity of more than 600 W/cm2 allows the fast increase of temperatures (up to more than 700 °C) that is high enough for thermochemical conversion of the fuel. The lower intensities mostly initiate the slow evaporation of the volatile oil components without essential oxidation of the fuel.
