Super-resonance for a dielectric sphere with a low refractive index has been numerically simulated within the Mie theory. It has been shown for the first time that not only previously studied weakly dissipative mesoscale spheres made of materials with “moderate” (about 1.5) and high (above 2) refractive indices but also spheres with low (about 1.3) refractive index support high-order Fano resonance associated with internal Mie modes. In this case, the relative intensities of resonance peaks for both magnetic and electric fields near the poles of the sphere in the optical range can reach enormous values of about 106–107 for a water sphere with a Mie size parameter of about 70.
