Summary:Title screen
The paper describes a fabrication of a covalent organic frameworks (COF) structure on the surface of an optical fiber. The growth of COF on the surface was initiated by the action of a plasmon. A thin film of gold was deposited on the surface of the optical fiber and a layer of 4-cyanobenzenediazonium tosylate (ADT-CN) was grafted. The plasmon on the surface was excited by a laser source. By immersion of the fiber in a solution of organic monomers, a COF growth reaction took place. The surface was characterized by Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The surface morphology was studied by scanning electron microscopy. Due to the affinity of COF for CO2 the designed sensor can be used for the detection of CO2 in organic solvents, namely in 1,2-epoxybutane at various temperatures by UV-Vis spectrophotometry.
