In this paper, we present the result the result of a numerical investigation into the combustion processes in a tangentially fired-boiler furnace chamber using design coal (sub-bituminous coal) and substitute coal (bituminous coal, sub-bituminous coal). It was found that during the combustion of substitute bituminous coal at the level burners, the temperature in the entire section increases by 150 °C, and while combustion of substitute sub-bituminous coal active combustion zone stretched along the height of the combustion chamber. It was found that substitute coals may by burned as the main fuel.
