The results of laboratory studies of thermal processing of beer pellets are presented. To study the energy characteristics of bio-carbon resulting from the pyrolysis of beer pellets in a wide temperature range from 250 °С to 600 °С, an experimental unit for the conversion of carbon-containing products in an inert environment was developed. Based on the results of the experimental studies the composition of pyrolysis gases was determined, the maximum content of combustible gas components with a minimum content of anthropogenic gases was established. The caloric value of the obtained bio-carbon at five thermal decomposition temperature regimes of the initial material was determined. The optimum temperature for pyrolysis of beer pellets in an inert medium has been established at 600 °С.
