Mechanical behaviour of reinforced structures to a great extent depends on the quality of the concrete-reinforcement bond. This article studies the influence of concrete-reinforcement bond quality on the process of fracture due to uniaxial compression. The relationship between the characteristics of the concrete-reinforcement interface and the distribution of internal stresses under compressive load has been studied based on physical and computational simulation. A good agreement between experimental and theoretical results has been shown. Consistent patterns of the influence of the concrete-reinforcement bond quality on the parameters of the electric response to mechanical impact during a gradual increase in the external compressive load have been established. Criteria for evaluating the concrete-reinforcement bond quality and predicting the reinforced concrete fracture have been proposed.
