We present the experimental results of the effect of laser processing on an aluminum surface. Using the equipment of the shadow method, the geometric dimensions of water droplets on textured and polished samples of aluminum surfaces were determined by goniometry methods. We found that immediately after processing, the wetting properties improved. Then, when storing substrates in laboratory conditions, their wetting properties deteriorated with time. The time of wetting inversion was found to depend on the formed texture (treated surface area). The wetting properties stabilized from 15 to 29 days on substrates with partial surface treatment by laser methods. When the entire surface of the aluminum was treated by laser radiation, the wetting properties did not stabilize after 29 days, the contact angle increased from absolute wettability (0°) to 53°. The roughness parameters, which can be used to study wetting of textured surfaces, were determined.
