| Summary: | Title screen Studies have shown that education is connected to other social indicators of well-being,especially among older adults. Thus, this study examined the impact of education on the wellbeing of older adults in the Tomsk region (Siberia, Russia). Overall, the purpose was two-fold:1) to use a specially designed questionnaire that assesses the educational background of theolder generation, which can be replicated in other regional studies of different countries, and2) to conduct a regional case study about the correlation between the education level andsubjective aspects of older adults’ well-being, which can be used in similar studies forinternational comparisons and generalizations. The authors interviewed 400 individuals whoreached (in accordance with Russian legislation) retirement age, i.e., 55 years for women and60 years for men. The participants provided informed consent for the study. The surveyincluded 78 questions related to demographics, social and economic conditions, and physicaland psychological indicators. The results of the regression analysis showed that educationlevel is significantly correlated with subjective aspects of older adults’ well-being such as theability to use a computer, the sense of optimism, involvement in social activities, and financialcapacity |
