The article is devoted to various forms and methods of perpetuating the memory of Sergei Mironovich Kirov, who was killed in 1934. For example, Tomsk industrial institute (now Tomsk polytechnic university) was named after S.M. Kirov in 1935. Later, in 1938, Museum behalf of S. Kirov was created in Tomsk, first it was on balance of Tomsk industrial institute. By the decision of Tomsk Executive in 1940 Committee Kirov' museum passed to Tomsk city museum, and during the Great Patriotic war Kirov exhibits, like all other funds of the museum, were folded. In 1966 the Department of Communist party history of Tomsk polytechnic institute initiated to create a room-museum of Sergey Kirov. The employees of that Department were engaged in collecting of sources and materials of Kirov and prepared the exposition project of the room-museum. The opening of the Museum took place in November of 1967, when celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the October revolution were held throughout the country. It is known, that the room-museum contained materials mostly on the Tomsk period of activity of S. Kirov. But in 1971 the exposition of new museum, Room of fighting glory, was opened in polytechnic institute, and all forces of Department of Communist party history employees were directed to work in this Museum. Surely, it negatively affected work of S.M. Kirov's room-museum. Nevertheless, in 1984, the rector of polytechnic institute, professor I.A. Chuchalin signed an order to restore the Kirov' room-museum. So new plan of the room-museum exposition was approved at Department of Communist party history. In May of 1986 active work on the formation of funds and preparation of the museum exposition was began. Employees of the Department of history were engaged in search, identification of rare documents and materials about S.M. Kirov in Tomsk archives and libraries. At the same time, they systematized and thought them over. In November of 1987 a new exhibition, which was based on authentic things and written sources, reflecting the activities of S. Kirov in Tomsk, was opened. The exposition was divided into complexes, among which was the complex "Kirov in Tomsk prisons", represented by photographs and original documents. The exposition about S Kirov was the only one in Tomsk and it was actively used in ideological and educational work with young people, in popularization of historical and revolutionary knowledge. Soon after the opening Kirov' room-museum became part of the updated Museum of labor and military glory, and in 1990 it was transformed into a Museum of history of Tomsk polytechnic institute. Now all the materials of Kirov' museum are in Complex of museums of Tomsk polytechnic university. |
