Thermal barrier coatings are used for protecting structural parts operating under high thermal-force loads of various types. One of the problems to be of crucial importance is related to the fact that thermal and physical properties of the coating material and ones of the substrate differ markedly. In addition, under exposure to intensive heating the temperature distribution during both the transient and stationary regimes can significantly differ in the bulk substrate and coating. For modeling a thermal barrier coating behavior under intensive thermal loading a number of problems are successively solved: thermal conductivity, thermal elasticity, stability, stress-strain state in the coating and substrate after stability loss of the coating.
