The paper considers method for determining the oil reservoirs filtration properties anisotropy by using paleomagnetic oriented core samples. The filtration paths investigation at the micro level (in thin sections) has made it possible to establish the manifested spatial heterogeneity of the filtration-capacitive properties, which directions are consistent with the preferred spatial orientation of the elongated quartz grains, with the cracks development directions and pore space in the sandstones. Based on the results obtained, it was concluded that there is a correlation between the clastic material maximum fracture directions and the location of pores in the rocks, which positively affects the filtration parameters of the rocks. This fact, first of all, is connected with the hydrodynamic features of the terrigenous reservoirs formation. The precipitation of grains in space occurs along certain (preferred) directions of the depositing medium, which predetermines the structure of the pore matrix and the anisotropy of its filtration characteristic.
