Summary:Title screen
The elastic residual tensile macrostressess, the crystal lattice parameters and the mean square displacements of atoms of the a-Ti phase, the phase and elemental composition and microstructure of the surface layers of commercial titanium and Ti-6Al-4V alloy samples, subjected to processing by low energy high current pulsed electron beam were investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning and transmission diffraction electron microscopy. It was found that an unstable state of the crystal lattice of the [alpha]-Ti phase occurs at the increasing of the carbon and oxygen atoms concentration in the samples surface layers.
