| Summary: | Title screen The use of an optical fiber in which Cherenkov radiation is generated instead of a metal wire for scanning a beam profile allows a compact and noise-proof device for diagnostics of charged particle beams in a wide energy range to be developed. Results of experimental investigation of the yield of Vavilov–Cherenkov radiation generated in optical fibers with thickness in the range from 0.125 to 1 mm by electrons with energy of 5.7 MeV are presented.
