Summary:Title screen
At present, solar power engineering is a rapidly growing technology. The overall installed capacity of the solar power plants is increased. Thus, the importance of solar power plants cost is now an essential problem for power engineers and scientists. Therefore, the implementation of such devices as solar concentrators and solar trackers is now an appropriate measure of solar power plant efficiency increasing. This paper deals with the development and tests of the tracker for the solar panels and acrylic concentrator developed. The relevance of the solar trackers implementation is justified and the calculation of efficiency increase is presented. The fundamental advantages of the solar tracker with the control circuit of the active-type orientation are outlined. The methods of system's control are considered. The electric drive parameters for the solar tracker are chosen based on the weight and size of the solar panel. The main units of the rotation mechanism are shown. An example of the solar tracker implementation in the field conditions is described. As a result, it is found that the use of the solar tracker and the acrylic concentrator allow significant increasing efficiency of the solar power plants in the areas without centralized electric power supply. Moreover, it is often more beneficial than the use of diesel power plants there.
