| Summary: | Title screen The Rayleigh scattering of a light beam on spherical heterogeneities uniformly distributed in a thin ring layer to waveguide TE-modes of a polymer optical fiber has been considered. We suppose the beam is propagated in a cross-section plane of the fiber with parabolic profile of a core refractive index. A simple analytical description of waveguide mode intensity which allows extracting contributions of three different physical mechanisms has been obtained. Numerical calculations and analysis of intensity dependence on an light beam offset relative to fiber axis in the core by various radii of scattering heterogeneity ring for multimode polymer fiber parameters which are typical for optical wavelength 632 nm have been performed.
