| Yhteenveto: | Title screen The article discusses the pragmatic intentions which can be found in humanistic text and discourse and realized at the level of academic communication and at the level of conceptual modeling of the object of scientifi c description. Conceptual metaphor appears asa basic tool of such modeling. The methodology of the research is based on the theory of conceptual metaphor proposed by Lakoff and Johnson. The way of metaphorical modelling, regarded as a pragmatic aspect of the academic text, is analyzed on the basis of philosophical articles by V. Rudnev.
