Summary:Title screen
Nowadays, an urgent problem for energy sector development is to expand the energy resource base and to utilize efficiently low-grade waste of processing coal, oil and waste flammable liquids. This paper describes an experimental study of the integral characteristics (the times of delay and complete combustion, limit or minimum oxidizer temperatures), conditions and features of the sustainable ignition of coal-water slurry droplets containing petrochemicals (CWSP) in the hot air flow. Composite fuel is a composition based on KEK (processing waste of coal preparation plants) of grade “K” and waste turbine oil. The experimental results are presented for the ignition of single CWSP droplets (radius is 0.2mm-1mm) in the air flow with the limit (minimum) temperature of 800K-1000K. Also, the study sets the times of ignition delay and complete combustion of composite fuel by varying the initial droplet sizes and the oxidizer temperature.
