Summary:Title screen
In the work morphology, phase composition, elemental composition and hardness changes of surface layers of Ti coating/WC - 8 % CO substrate system after pulsed electron beam treatment has been investigated. It is determined that irradiation of system results in surface layer melting with subsequent mixing of coating and substrate materials. This is the reason why a solid solution (Ti, W)C and W2C-phases formed in the surface layer. It is shown that WC - 8 % CO hard alloy complex treatment results in growth of surface layer microhardness.
