| Summary: | Title screen The possibility of depositing protective Ti-N coatings on unalloyed steel treated by a low-pressure arc with a graphite anode is considered. The phase composition of coatings is investigated. Physicomechanical characteristics of deposited coatings are determined. The data indicate the necessity of depositing the coating in a vacuum cycle combined with cleaning at a substrate temperature no lower than the half of its melting point.
