A model allowing to calculate the radiation characteristics from relativistic particles passing through tilted periodical targets consisting of strips spaced by vacuum gaps has been created. The model has been developed for ideally conducting infinitely thin strips. For this case, the spectral and orientation characteristics of optical radiation from electrons with energy 200 MeV passing through the tilted periodical target with a period of 0.8 mm and strip width of 0.64 mm was calculated. The experimental investigation of spectral and orientation characteristics of resonant polarisation radiation from electrons passing through the target with the characteristics noticed above has also been carried out. The spectra have been measured in the region from 1.9 to 3.0 eV with a spectrometer consisting of an optical prism and a photomultiplier. In contrast to the previous experiments, where angular dependence of radiation intensity has been measured by moving the detector, in our experiment the radiation yield has been measured for different tilted angles.
