Some alloys restore their initial shape after “plastic” deformation (to 10%) in the martensite state and subsequent heating (shape memory effect). It is shown that the main shape memory effect parameters, namely, reversible deformation εM, martensite shear stress σM, and temperature hysteresis Δt g , are controlled by the fine structure of the plane of contact of the initial and martensite lattices (habit plane) and are extremal when the parameters of two lattices coincide (nanoinvariance).
