| Summary: | Заглавие с экрана С применением высокоскоростных средств видеорегистрации выполнены экспериментальные исследования закономерностей «взрывного» парообразования неоднородных капель жидкости с твердым включением при нагреве в зоне пламени. Выделены два механизма реализации «взрывного» испарения неоднородных (с непрозрачным твердым включением) капель: при полном обволакивании тушащей жидкостью твердого включения и при частично свободной его поверхности. Определены условия реализации режима «взрывного» парообразования и только испарения со свободной поверхности неоднородных капель воды. The work in question is aimed at the experimental study of the “explosive” evaporation mechanisms in the flame zone when heating heterogeneous drops of the extinguishing liquid. METHODS. The research was conducted with application of the testing stand including the tools of high-speed video recording with special software to fix all stages of the high-rate heat and mass transfer processes when heating the liquid droplet with solid inclusions in the flame area. Two kinds of droplets were used in the experiments: the droplets in which the liquid film covered the solid particle completely and the ones in which the solid inclusion was kept partly free to interact with the gaseous area. FINDINGS. The specifics of the starting point and the stage of an “explosive” vaporization were investigated. The intensive evaporation and loss in the liquid weight form the external border preceded “explosive” destruction of droplets in the experiments with droplets in which the liquid covered the particle completely. Evaporation and loss in weight from the external border were insignificant when heating the droplets in which the liquid film covered the solid inclusion partly. RESEARCH APPLICATION FIELD. The obtained experimental data related to the possibility of implementing two different mechanisms of an “explosive” vaporization of the liquid droplets with the solid inclusions predetermine developing new technologies of fire extinguishing by the extinguishants in the form of a spray as well as improving the existing ones. CONCLUSIONS. The testing stand and methodology developed for conducting the experiments for studying heat and mass transfer processes in the “explosive” evaporation of the heterogeneous droplets in the flame will enhance the idea of the peculiarities of the evaporation process in these droplets as well as the conditions for its implementation and the impact of various factors on its intensity.
