In 18 ombrotrophic peat deposits, the average contents of 25 trace elements were determined. The studied peat deposits of Tomsk region are characterized by high concentrations of Fe, Co, Ba, Cr, Sr, Br, Sb and Au. This specific range of trace elements was determined as a characteristic for Tomsk region. The estimations of average contents of trace elements in the high-moor peat were recommended as the background level for studies of the changing of atmosphere fallouts composition using the high-moor peat as an indicator of the environment pollution. The southern-eastern part of Tomsk region were determined as the most polluted according to results of elements concentrations at this territory and taking into account the influence from industries of Tomsk-Seversk industrial agglomeration.
