English novelists the Bronte sisters left great artistic heritage. The reception of the Bronte sisters' works began in their native English culture and literature in the 19th century, and in the 20th century the research of their work continues. The subject timeliness of this scientific research is determined by problems of reception theory, by questions of dialogue of cultures and intercultural communication. The scientific novelty is that for the first time we make an attempt of special research of history and specification of literary and scientific criticism of the Bronte sisters' works in Russia in the 20th century, also for the first time we make a comparative analysis of Russian and English literary criticism of the Bronte sisters' works of this period. The aim of this research is to determine the main features of literary and scientific criticism of the Bronte sisters' works by Russian and English studies of literature in the 20th century. At that time, a lot of English specialists in literature research the Bronte sisters' works, they are: C. Shorter,V. Woolf, E.F. Benson, T.J. Wise, R. Chase, M. Willy, М. Spark, W.H. Stevenson, P. Bentley, L. Hinkley, T. Eagleton, M. Peters, E. Chitham, I. Tayler and others. In the 20th century, there are many new versions of the Bronte sisters' works and scientific researchers. The Russian researchers are: A.A. Budagyan, O.A. Naumova, V.M. Basilevich, M.S. Mihaylova, M.A. Gritchuk, D.B. Hardak, O.R. Demidova, E.A. Sokolova, M.P. Tugusheva, N.P. Mihalskaya, V.V.
