| Summary: | Заглавие с экрана The glowing, fracture and explosive decomposition of pentaerytritol tetranitrate (PETN) monocrystals initiated by a nanosecond pulsed high-current electron beam (HCEB) have been experimentally studied. It is found that crystallographically oriented electric (strimer) discharges are formed within the action range of the electron-beam on the crystal in a wide range of energy density (0,1-75,0 J/cm 2). Threshold energy density for the electric breakdown, fracture and explosive decomposition of PETN monocrystals under HCEB action has been measured. In contrast to pressed PETN samples, monocrystals exhibit incomplete explosion with the expansion of the major part of the unreacted substance.
