Coatings is based on stoichiometric hydroxyapatite were obtained by r.f. magnetron sputtering. Morphology, elemental and phase composition of the coatings were investigated by SEM, EDX, FTIR. The elemental composition was determined by composition of the target for sputtering. Spreading of the elements on the surface of the coatings is homogeneous. The results showed that the coatings maintain the adhesion and proliferative activity of anchorage-dependent cells; in this regard the rate of cells activity increases with increasing the thickness of the coating.
