Summary:Characteristics are given for the chemical compounds which are contained in the CaO·Al2O3·2SiO2−CaO·SiO2−MgO·SiO2−SiO2 tetrahedron and constitute the main crystalline phase of a large group of electroceramics. It is shown to be possible to analyze natural magnesia-calcium silicates in a four-component system with allowance for the formation of chemical compounds. The use of diopside raw materials is substantiated and their advantages in the manufacture of electroceramics are assessed
