| Summary: | Polarization characteristics of diffraction radiation (DR) from a semi-infinite plane and a slit have been investigated. In contrast to transition radiation, where polarization is linear, DR possesses in the general case an elliptical polarization. The linear polarization degree of DR from a slit has a strong dependence on the impact parameter (the shortest distance between the particle trajectory and the slit center line). Measuring the linear polarization degree of optical DR one may obtain information regarding the transverse beam size. The estimation of a sensitivity of the proposed technique and comparison with other ones developed so far is discussed. В фонде НТБ ТПУ отсутствует |
