Summary:The elevated uranium levels in Devonian acid volcanites are syngenetic. The contrasty volcanic series has a single common Rb-Sr isochron corresponding to 413±13 My and indicates a single magmatic source for the acid and basic effusives. The original Sr ratio in the magma source was 0.7043±0.0006 and corresponds to the range of similar values for island-arc basalts (0.7033-0.7051). It is assumed that the generation of the magmas involved mantle material.
