It was established that depending on ambient conditions at combustion in air aluminum nanopowder spherical particles are transformed into filiform crystals or into hexagonal microcrystals. The hexagonal microcrystals of aluminum nitride with a clearly defined faceting are synthesized by combustion of compacted aluminum nanopowders. The crystals of such form can be used as base layers in micro- and nanoelectronics
