Pyocyanin is a water-soluble blue-green phenazine pigment produced in large quantities by active cultures of Pseudomonas aeruginosa when grown in nutrient agar medium. Isolation of this substance was performed by extraction method with chloroform. Eluate was concentrated by evaporation with rotary evaporator to give crude phenazine. Purity of the obtained substance was verifiad by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) with toluene/acetone 3/1 as eluents. The nature of Pyocyanin antibacterial action was determined for several bacteria. In addition, according to the study of biological property, this antibacterial substance can inhibit some of microorganisms that are Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans.
