| Summary: | Title from the title-page. The paper describes an experimental setup created for the study of the pd reaction (p + d → 3He + γ (5.5 MeV)) in the region of ultralow energies (~ keV) of proton-deuteron collisions using a pulsed plasma accelerator. It is shown that the formation process of the hydrogen inverse Z-pinch is fairly well modelled by zero-dimensional calculations of the liner motion dynamics. Equipment for diagnostics of the liner flow formation is designed and created. Conditions for conducting experiments at the high-current generator MIG of the Institute of High-Current Electronics (Tomsk, Russia) are investigated.
