Summary:The major part of this book consists of curriculum materials which can be used to illustrate and develop these themes. These were produced individually by members of the project team and then collectively evaluated and revised. The materials are presented as examples of ways of dealing with ethical aspects of science in the classroom and, whilst we hope they have a value in their own right, equally we present them as a guided challenge to innovative curriculum developers to construct their own. In addition, we provide background material for the teacher. This consists of accounts of the principles and methods of teaching ethical aspects of science, a general introduction to theories of ethics and ideas to encourage further explorations.
