| Summary: | Title screen The results of one- and two-stage separation of natural gas using the hydrate formation method are reported in this study. Natural gas separation is necessary to remove unwanted components like CO2, H2S, N2, and water vapors, as they reduce the fuel quality and cause corrosion to equipment. In this research, optimal conditions were determined for hydrate-based separation of natural gas, obtained from a local gas producing company, with the following composition: 81.06 mol% CH4 + 3.2 mol% C2H6 + 1.71 mol% C3H8 + 1.24 mol% C4H10 + 12.79 mol% N2. At a pressure of 30 bar and temperature of 273.15 K, hydrate with 97.3% hydrocarbon content was obtained. Methane purity degree was improved by separating the unreacted gaseous mixture. Optimal conditions for the second separation were a pressure of 35 bar and temperature of 273.15 K. The maximum purity degree of methane in hydrate was 95.7%. The energy consumption of hydrate-based separation is 18–56% lower than using traditional methods of gas mixture separation. A process flow diagram for industrial application of the research findings was proposed Текстовый файл AM_Agreement |
