| Summary: | Rare earth elements (REE) and high field strength elements (HFSE) are strategically important components of modern high-technology and green-energy industries, which has stimulated growing interest in natural systems capable of concentrating these elements. In this context, the mineralogical and geochemical evolution of REE–HFSE systems within the Chingiz-Tarbagatai Caledonian fold belt, particularly in the Western Chingiz segment of the Devonian volcano-plutonic belt, remains insufficiently constrained. This study focuses on the mineralogical composition, geochemical characteristics, and formation sequence of rare earth and rare-metal mineralization within the Zhana-Kazakhstan ore cluster. The results indicate that post-magmatic metasomatic processes played a decisive role in the development of this mineralization. The host tuffs and tuff breccias of rhyolite composition underwent Ksingle bondNa metasomatism, which facilitated the redistribution and local concentration of REE and HFSE (Nb and Ti). Geochemical data indicate a systematic increase in the intensity of rare earth element mineralization with depth along the section, reflecting progressive REE concentration during the evolution of the mineralizing system. Rare earth mineralization is represented by röntgenite and monazite, which crystallized at different stages of the system's evolution. Magmatic monazite acted as the primary concentrator of LREE and the principal source of REE for subsequent reworking, whereas during late hydrothermal metasomatism part of the LREE budget was remobilized and reprecipitated as röntgenite. The occurrence of Ca-MREE-enriched monazite records the final low-temperature stage of elemental redistribution. Concurrently with REE mineralization, Nbsingle bondTi mineralization developed, represented by ilmenorutile and columbite forming a metasomatic replacement series. Ilmenorutile reflects early post-magmatic alteration of ilmenite, whereas columbite crystallized in response to the influx of Nb-enriched fluids during the late stages of hydrothermal evolution Текстовый файл AM_Agreement |
