Summary:Title screen
Calcium aluminates are of significant interest for the production of luminescent materials, as well as in metallurgy and construction. In this work, the phase formation processes of calcium aluminates were studied in three Ca(OH)2-based systems, which included as precursors: 1) nanosized Al powder, 2) micron-sized Al powder, and 3) micron-sized γ-Al2O3 powder. In-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction was used to study the evolution of the phases upon heating and to identify differences in the use of aluminum powders with different particle sizes and aluminum oxide. The initial mixtures were heated to 1350 ºC. The main temperature boundaries for phase formation of aluminate structures were determined
