Summary:Title screen
It has been shown for the first time that the impact of a repetitively pulsed titanium ion beam with a high power density on the surface of AISI 420 steel can significantly change the morphology, elemental and phase composition, microstructure and operational properties of the surface. The presence of the effect of multiple grain refinement and the formation of a fine-grained structure in the ion-modified layer of the AISI 420 steel was discovered. Modification contributed to an increase in the wear resistance up to 50 times. Research of elemental composition, surface morphology and ion-modified layer microstructures has been carried out
