Gaia:The valorization of polymer composites represents a vital task for the future generations due to widespread applicability of such materials. Despite the sufficient knowledge about up- and recycling of polymers, the implementation of obtained findings for the composite treatment is still far from the modern technological solutions. In this case, the degradation of the polymer matrix can be considered as the crucial step for the further processing. For the fiber-filled composite valorization, it is important to achieve the full removal and isolation of fillers with conservation of mechanistic properties and surface chemistry for the further applications. The chapter is focused on the approaches to recycling of polymer matrices through partial degradation on the environmental conditions with further discussion of methods implemented in composite valorization
