Zusammenfassung:Title screen
The paper presents, for the first time, the results of comprehensive studies on air pollution caused by metals in areas where coal industry enterprises operate, using a mining town in the Kuzbass region of the Russian Federation as an example. The study employed the epiphytic moss transplantation method developed by the authors, which allows for the acquisition of objective data on air pollution levels in urbanized areas. Concentrations of 35 chemical elements in moss samples were measured using neutron activation analysis and atomic emission spectrometry. Particular attention was given to the most toxic and carcinogenic elements. Air pollution indices and potential environmental risk indices were calculated, and spatial distributions were constructed for the metals that contribute most significantly to pollution. Cluster and factor analyses of the concentrations were conducted, identifying coal mining enterprises whose activities lead to the highest levels of air pollution with metals
