This paper presents the results of the synthesis of zirconium diboride ZrB2 DC arc discharge plasma in the open-air atmosphere. The synthesis is carried out due to the screening effect of carbon monoxide formed at the beginning of the synthesis. Metallic Zr and amorphous B powders were used as precursors. The phase composition of the synthesized powder was studied and the parameters of the crystal lattice of the synthesis product were determined
