Studies have been carried out to develop the sintering mode and analyze the properties of tablets obtained by fabricating carbon black powders with the addition of nickel stearate at various pressing pressures. Based on the thermal analysis of samples of nickel stearate used in the experiments, the sintering mode of the carbon tablets under study was worked out. With the help of X-ray fluorescence analysis data, the presence of nickel in the obtained tablets was confirmed. As a result of tests of tablets for mechanical strength, the possibility of carrying out the process of saturation of carbon tablets with hydrogen at pressures significantly exceeding atmospheric pressure was proved.
