We address some questions related to the discrete ambiguity problem in a truncated partial-wave analysis in the case when the helicity basis together with truncation in total angular momentum j is employed. As a numerical application, we consider the case jmax = 3⁄2 using as input the MAID2007 and SAID multipoles in the γp → π0p channel.
