| Sumari: | Title screen The results of experimental investigations of laser purification of the outer surface of a fuel-rod tube from microparticles are presented. It was shown experimentally that Nd laser radiation with intensity 17.8–27.8 kW/cm2 and duration 1.5 msec removes adhered UO2 microparticles from the surface of a fuel- rod tube. The processed fuel-element meets the roughness specifications. The heating of UO2, PuO2, ThO2, and CeO2 microparticles by CO2 laser radiation was modeled. Modeling shows that 10.6 µm pulsed laser radiation with duration 50 nsec can be used for laser decontamination of uranium-plutonium fuel microparticles welded into the weld seam.
