This paper considers the problem of proper current controller adjustment employing symmetrical optimum for a boost converter within the structure of a load simulator serving for ground testing of a set of power supplies for autonomous objects. The simulator allows to obtain the load current waveforms necessary for investigating the operation of the power supply to be tested. This requires an optimal current controller adjustment for the boost converter ensuring the acceptable values of the response time, and overshooting. Within the scope of the present work we adjusted the current controller using symmetrical optimum, which is widely used for a number of industrial applications. This allowed us to apply a direct load current with a sinusoidal term of a magnitude up to a half with respect to the rated value of the load current. The proposed method suggests that having a structure of the converter under design and requirements to the transient response we provide the proper behavior of a complex dynamic system.
