This report discusses the algorithm to compensate for the distorting effects of the medium filling the tip–biological surface gap using probe and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The proposed image distortion correction algorithm is based on a posteriori processing of measured data and the basic principles of filter theory and digital image processing. A model was created by considering the standard deviation of recovery, low values of which point to the effectiveness of the algorithm to improve the quality of images of the surfaces of biological objects at the molecular level
