The microstructure, phase composition, and parameters of ?-Ti-based solid solutions in a Ti–6Al–4V alloy obtained by the 3D printing method without cooling and with water cooling of the titanium substrate are investigated using X-ray diffraction analysis, transmission diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, and optical metallography. It is found that water cooling of the substrate reduces the sizes of prior ?-grains, increases the volume fraction of the ?-phase, and decreases the volume fraction of the ?"-phase and the total mean square displacement of atoms in the ?-Ti crystal lattice, and also increases the elastic macrostrain of the samples.
